SNMP Explorer changelog
Every version of SNMP Explorer for Mac as released on the Mac App Store, newest first.
1.0.4
In preparation- SNMP Explorer is now available in German and Spanish.
- Prices in the app always come from the App Store, in your own currency.
- Smaller fixes and improvements.
1.0.3
Released 19 September 2026This update makes the Monitor more robust with devices that have small embedded SNMP agents (RAID controllers, UPS units, PDUs), and makes SNMPv3 problems visible.
- Polls are now sent to each device one at a time instead of all at once, so agents that handle a single request at a time no longer drop requests.
- A single missed poll now shows as Stale; a card only turns to Error after two consecutive failures.
- Monitor cards now show the actual reason for a failed poll, with details in the status tooltip.
- Poll failures and recoveries are written to the system log (Console, subsystem red.toz.snmpexplorer) to make troubleshooting easier.
- Wrong SNMPv3 credentials are now reported as an authentication error (wrong password, wrong auth or privacy protocol, unknown user) instead of an empty result or a false "connected". If a device turns red after this update, check its auth/privacy protocol and passwords.
- Walks stop cleanly when an agent misbehaves instead of running forever.
- Credentials pasted with a trailing space or line break are handled correctly.
- SHA-256 authentication now works with standards-compliant agents.
1.0.2
Released 14 September 2026This update fixes SNMP trap handling and improves the Trap Feed.
- Inform requests (SNMPv2c) are now properly acknowledged, so devices that use Informs instead of plain Traps no longer see failed deliveries or retransmissions.
- Improved cleanup of trap listener connections to keep long-running trap reception healthy.
- Trap names are now resolved from imported MIBs and standard definitions (e.g. "linkDown", "coldStart") instead of showing raw OIDs.
- The Trap Feed can now be detached into its own resizable window, so you can size it to fit longer OIDs and values comfortably.
1.0.1
Released 18 July 2026Imported standards-track MIBs (IETF and IEEE) now appear in the Select MIBs picker. Previously, MIBs rooted outside the vendor tree, such as the UPS MIB (RFC 1628) or LLDP, imported correctly but could not be selected for walking.
1.0
Released 18 May 2026First release on the Mac App Store: SNMP walk and single queries for v1, v2c and v3, table and tree view with live filter, Monitor view with sparklines, trap receiver, MIB import with built-in presets, CSV device import and export.
